How to Organise Your Linen Cupboard

Linen cupboards can be a bit of a pain to keep tidy – we’re blaming you, fitted sheets! With these tips and tricks to make things easier you’ll have no excuse for messy manchester.

  1. Start by taking everything out of the closet, matching up your sheet sets and pillows, and grouping items together – towels, facecloths, tablecloths, napkins, spare toiletries, etc.
  2. Donate, throw out, or repurpose anything that’s getting too old and tattered or that you never use.
  3. Plan out and label your shelves, making sure most frequently used items are at an easily reachable height, and any potentially harmful cleaning products are on high shelves out of the reach of kids or pets.
  4. Roll your towels and stack them pyramid style – no more toppling stacks of folded ones!
  5. Keep beach towels separate to bath towels. You most likely don’t use them year-round, or the same amount.
  6. Learn this magical method of folding fitted sheets!
  7. When your fitted sheet and top sheet are both folded, stack them with all the matching pillowcases except one, then place your stack inside the remaining pillowcase. Your sets will never get separated again.
  8. Organise your sheet sets by room or by size. A good idea is to buy queen/double sheets in one colour and single sheets in another so you don’t have to pull out your sheets to figure it out.
  9. Store your out of season and spare blankets on the top shelf in dust bags or old pillowcases.
  10. If your closet has a tendency to get musty keep an open pack of baking soda in there. For a pleasant smell store sachets of lavender on each shelf
  11. Don’t forget the door! You can add hooks to the inside of the door to hang bathrobes, or little baskets for spare soap, toothpaste and tampons.
  12. Stick to the the “one out, one in” rule – if you buy a new set of sheets get rid of an old set.
